International Movers in Westfield, MA

We run the origin side of an overseas move — the packing, crating, and inventory — and hand off to a licensed freight partner for the ocean or air leg.

  • Export-grade packing and a room-by-room inventory built for customs
  • Custom wood crates for art, electronics and anything a container voyage punishes
  • One local contact from the estimate through delivery to port

An international move has more steps than a domestic one: export packing, a detailed inventory in the format your destination agent needs, and freight that has to be booked weeks out. We run the part that happens in your Westfield home, then hand a clean, inventoried shipment to a licensed freight-forwarding partner who books the ocean or air leg and manages customs.

What we handle directly

  • A walk-through and a room-by-room inventory built for customs paperwork
  • Export-grade wrapping and custom wood crates for art, mirrors and electronics
  • Delivery of the packed, inventoried shipment to the departure port
  • Coordination with your forwarder and destination agent through delivery

How an overseas move works

  1. We inventory the home and quote the packing and crating.
  2. Our forwarding partner quotes and books the ocean or air freight from that inventory.
  3. We pack to export standard and deliver the shipment to the port on the booked date.
  4. The forwarder handles the freight, customs clearance, and final delivery abroad.

What shapes the cost

Shipment sizeCratingTypical origin-side cost
Partial – a few roomsMinimal$1,200–$2,400
Full householdStandard export wrap$3,800–$7,500
Full household with art/antiquesCustom crates$6,500–$12,000+

Call before you book freight. The inventory and packing plan should come first — it changes the container size and the quote you'll get from a forwarder.

Getting started

Every international move is quoted from a real inventory, in person or by video walk-through. Moving domestically instead? See long-distance moving. Call us before you book anything — the order you do things in matters.

International Moving FAQ

Do you book the ocean or air freight?

No — a licensed international freight forwarder does, using the inventory we build. We coordinate directly with them so nothing gets lost between the packing list and the booking.

How far ahead do I need to plan?

Six to eight weeks is typical. Ocean freight books out further than air, and customs paperwork takes time to prepare correctly the first time.

What can't ship internationally?

Rules vary by destination country, but plants, perishables, firearms and aerosols are commonly restricted or prohibited. Your forwarder will confirm the specific list for where you're headed.

Is my shipment insured?

Marine or all-risk cargo insurance is arranged through the forwarder for the ocean or air leg; we carry standard valuation coverage for the packing and port-delivery portion we handle.

Can you store belongings that aren't going overseas?

Yes. Anything staying behind can go into our heated Westfield warehouse instead of traveling.
